Κύριος Notes:Jesus In The Details

Adoration

This morning as I woke up this song was going through my thoughts...and I almost started humming it but it was too early to make noise.

His name is Wonderful, His name is Wonderful,
His name is Wonderful, Jesus my Lord;
He is the mighty King, master of everything,
His name is Wonderful, Jesus, my Lord.

He's the great Shepherd, the Rock of all ages,
Almighty God is He;
Bow down before Him, love and adore Him,
His name is Wonderful, Jesus, my Lord.
Scripture Reflections:Luke 22
7Then came the day of Unleavened Bread on which the Passover lamb had to be sacrificed. 8Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, "Go and make preparations for us to eat the Passover." 9"Where do you want us to prepare for it?" they asked.

Lord Jesus--You knew that days of your ministry were drawing to a close. It was no surprise to you how things would end in Jerusalem, and you knew that it would shake the world of the disciples. I am sure that you sensed their excitement, anticipation and their fear all at the same time.

This is one of the few recorded events where the disciples were tasked and we have record of they interactions. When the five thousand were feed, Phillip questioned...

John 6
5When Jesus looked up and saw a great crowd coming toward him, he said to Philip, "Where shall we buy bread for these people to eat?" 6He asked this only to test him, for he already had in mind what he was going to do.
7Philip answered him, "Eight months' wages would not buy enough bread for each one to have a bite!"

Maybe Phillip and his friends has learned some things since that incident. They did not ask the: "You want us to do what?" question. They did not ask the: "How are we going...? question." Nor did they ask the infamous: "Where are we going to get the money? ...question." Instead the only question that was asked was where do you want us to prepare the meal.

10He replied, "As you enter the city, a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him to the house that he enters, 11and say to the owner of the house, 'The Teacher asks: Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?' 12He will show you a large upper room, all furnished. Make preparations there."

Lord Jesus, these men had learned at you feet the lessons of faith. They knew without a doubt that you would provide the means to do what you tasked them to do. If it was healing you healed through them. If it was feeding a hungry crowd of people you did it through them. Their job was to allow themselves to be guided and directed and to be used in the process. At this point in their spiritual formation they understood that you would not task them with a job that could not be done. They trusted that in this situation that you would make sure that even the details were covered. They were not done with the formation process but they were on the way. They were not done, nor am I: continue to form and conform my spirit by the work of the Holy Spirit

13They left and found things just as Jesus had told them. So they prepared the Passover.

Lord Jesus the same is true in Saratoga Spring in the 21st century. You continue to manage the details, you provide and sustain, you lead and guide, you encourage and bless. I can almost hear the conversation as they look for the man carrying the water pot. They knew with out a doubt that the man would be there...carry a water pot to a house that would be available for passover with the Master.

Lord Jesus teach me the lesson of the details. You control them and I need to notice them. The reality is that you provide the answers even before we can form the questions.
Great Shepherd, the Rock of all ages ... be in
in the details of my day.
